“Wroclaw Award “Polonica Nova” is an initiative of Wroclaw city and The Polish Radio Station (“Program 2 Polskiego Radia”), prepared in cooperation with Wroclaw Philharmonic and it was done for purposes of Polish Contemporary Music Festival – “Musica Polonica Nova”.
The award is given to the composer for the best song, whose world premiere took place
in past two years and which was developed over the last five years.” (festival press releases)
While talking with musicians I often heard their desire to have an access to „a magical something” that would allow them a direct transition of melodies and compositions that they hear in theirs’ heads and hearts on any kind of device.
This is why as a Wroclaw Honourable Mention „Polonica Nova” Statuette I designed headphones that have just been taken out of musicians’ ears. Theirs’ inside music hasn’t had a chance yet to detach itself from the headphones therefore it took a visible form of a colourful ear tunnel cast.
Each musical composition is an externalisation of an internal symphony. As a honourable mention statuette the composers finally received long desired “magical something”.
A manual:
1. Insert awarded headphones in your ears.
2. Relax and let your inner music flow.
3. Whenever you are ready plug the jet into a recording device.
4. Let the music flow from your ears (interior) to the recording device.
