A collection of vases and bowls inspired by the juxtaposition of geometric, cold, industrial environment of a glass factory and hot glasses “natural tendencies” to form soft, organic, rounded shapes.
Each piece is unique, hand-formed using only temperature, gravity, centrifugal force and the force of blown air.
The decoration on the bottom of each vase directly harks back to a once very popular method of expensive hand-made crystal cut decoration (in Poland). It was very time consuming grinding and polishing crystal glass in all of the subtle geometrical patterns.
These hand cut decorations state the value and worth (financial and aesthetic) of the final product and they were pride of the Polish design industry and one of the top export products during the PRL period.
In the ‘Kristal’ collection, a confusingly similar visual effect has been achieved by using the thermal imprint of the glass factory natural environment – barred elements of industrial stairs.
