reFUN, rePLAY by NO MUDA collective

“Wastefulness – the Original Sin of our times, a deadly disease that needs to be fought not only with particular dose of patience and determination but also with injection of creativity.

This sort of fight is at the helm of NO MUDA collective: a group of artists, designers and recycling inventors sick of the notion that waste can function only as cast-offs or material to be reprocessed.

Our mission is to reinvent these so-called useless materials and introduce them into urban frame as elements of playgrounds or in havens of relaxation and amusement for grownups.

In Japanese, MUDA means wasteful activity. We are simply against it.” (Kolektyw NO MUDA)

“Each playground, which violates or diminishes the role of imagination and makes the child is more passive and becomes the recipient of someone else’s greater imagination, can be indeed nice, clean, safe and healthy, but can not satisfy basic needs, at issue in fun.” ( Christopher Alexander: A language patterns)

reFUN is an art installation made of recycled materials created for a specific public space in October 2011. It’s main objective is to demonstrate the practical relation between recycling and nature.
