CUTIES

Drinking glasses, jugs, small containers… they all remind us of the good old times of sweet decorations made on simple shapes.

Used glass containers and old drinking glasses have been fired in very high temperature (250 Celsius) and put into life again with added value of cute, vintage glass decals.

The shapes of the new objects proudly demonstrate its roots, its previous life, while the decoration itself takes us back to the good old times of lazy evenings spent with grandma, drinking home-made juice. Enjoy!

STORY behind the project:

While being at a glass factory in Poland my eyes got caught glass decals* that were lying in the pile to be thrown away and destroyed as (as I later learned) were not in fashion anymore.

They arose many sentimental feelings in me… so nice and comforting that I decided to share them, to recycle: both decors and sentiments.

* one of the most common ways of decorating products in glass and ceramic industry. Its printed out decoration –fake tattoos like- that is applied and fired on porcelain and glass products.

VOL.: vary: 200ml to 400ml.

MATERIALS: drinking glasses, mechanically and thermally treated nonrefundable glass containers, old glass decals, 2007.
